On a nice day when you want to dine outdoors, the courtyard at Martinique Bistro is a great setting that allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of Magazine Street.
Most recently, we visited the restaurant for lunch on Friday. (The restaurant is open for lunch on Fridays, and serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.)
For a starter, we ordered the Oyster Rockefeller Bisque which was outstanding. I don’t recall ever seeing this Bisque on any menu, and I will definitely order this item when I return.
Another item that is also unique and very good is the Lobster Cobb Salad. The presentation is not in the typical Cobb style, but it does contain most of the usual ingredients (bacon, egg, blue cheese, etc.). The addition of pieces of Maine lobster, along with the presentation, makes this a unique and popular choice.
Entree salads are on the small side, so big eaters might want to select other options. Also, parking is a challenge, so plan accordingly.
