My mom's birthday was this week and she got a card in the mail for $24 off of her meal at N'Tini in Mandeville. No strings attached either. No requirement to purchase anything else. No stipulation that it couldn't be used for one of the specials. So off we went.
We decided to go last night because Thursday's special is "Surf and Turf" and buy one get one free martinis.
First off...the service was absolutely incredible. Our waiter, Corey, was on top of things from the get go...bringing more bread right as we were finishing what was on the table. Bringing new martinis as soon as was finished our last sip of the previous one....etc etc.
Now the food...
At $28 for a filet with a lobster tail and a side dish...it was a steal! And that's not even figuring in the $24 off we were going to get!
The steak was cooked absolutely perfectly! For my side I got the creamed spinach and it was some of the best I'd ever had. My mom got the augratin potatoes and the asparagus...both delicious.
For dessert we shared the white chocolate bread pudding. While I didn't think it was quite as good as mine...it was still incredible.
Here's the breakdown of the bill....
2 Surf and turf specials: $56
Asparagus (mom ordered an extra side): $6
4 martinis: $16
2 coffees: $4.50
After tip and tax the total was $114..but then we got to take off our $24!
Service: 10 out of 10
Food: 10 out 10
Value: 8 out of 10

First time we have dined at this restaurant. The place is nice. The service was very good,as was the food. The kids had chicken and fries, which they enjoyed. My wife had the petite filet with mashed potatoes,it was under cooked for her liking. She ordered med.well,it was closer to med.rare. She was OK with it. Also had a small side salad. I asked the waitress if they had any specials. I ordered one of the two they offered. It was called stuffed flounder, but it was a fillet which was fine,I was just expecting whole flounder. The fillet was pan seared and topped with crab meat, mandarin slices, and maybe some garlic and a few herbs. It was served over a lite butter sauce and gnocchi, which was cooked perfect. I also had the Rockefeller salad, balsamic vinaigrette, mixed greens, feta cheese, apples and candied pecans. The whole meal (no wine) was A hundred dollars, plus tip. They did a great job.

The menu is a bit limited...but there is still a great selection of various dishes. The duck is fantastic if they have it and the Grilled Tuna with the grilled Scallops and Shrimp is fantastic. Well worth the 33 dollar average price per entree...
