Great service and atmosphere

My group had one of those sample platters as an appetizer, so I can confirm that they have plenty of great food. The owner is out and about. Big, nice guy. The service was great. Possibly a little expensive for the amount of food you get, but it was tasty nonetheless.
The dance floor and live music gives this place 5 stars. If you have fun friends, take them here to have even more fun.
Ignores the most important thing: food.

I've given this place a shot again and again, hoping that it would improve on the taste of its food, and I've been disappointed every time.
While it has an air of authenticity for a Cajun restaurant, the food is spiced to the lowest common denominator, so it doesn't taste like it should.
This place could be A LOT better if the owners revisited the menu and got everyone on the same page with producing flavor.
Good people own this restaurant, I would love to see them succeed, but work needs to be done.

Price is slightly high but you need to pay the band. This is the only place in Baton Rouge for authentic Cajun Music played nightly. Last visit the food was very good and had great service. Al Berard on the fiddle is a Louisiana Classic.
Has gone downhill

Seems like the first time I went to Boutins it was pretty decent(4 or 5 years ago), last few times it was horrible, service was bad, food was burnt, portions were small...
Great food - decent price

Had lunch here with a group of about 12. I had the half and half - fried crawfish and etouffee. Food and service were both great. Everyone I spoke with in our group enjoyed the food. I will be back.
