Love this place

I try and stop here every trip to favorite oysters in the city by far AND directly across from the overrated Acme (that always has a line)
Why wait for Acme?

Always a line at Acme but the food at Felix's is just as good if not better. Right across the street from Acme.
Belly up to the bar

There is no better way to spend a lazy afternoon in NOLA. Stand at the bar and eat a couple of dozen with a Dixie. Top it off with a soft shell crab po-boy. What a great day!
A Classic
by FlaBman on 10/12/10
A classic oyster bar that is New Orleans. Why wait at a tourist trap like Acme (across the street) when you can walk right up at Felix's. Try it once and you'll keep coming back.
Great Place to eat of gamedays
by TigerBait1127 on 7/5/10
This place is great for Saints gamedays. Everything I have ever had from this restaurant has been great. It is a little overpriced, but that is because its location is right of bourbon.
If Acme has a line....go to Felix's

Go here for raw oysters! The servers always seem to be kinda on the rude side though.
One of my traditions
by Seven Constanza on 3/10/10
Every time I go to New Orleans, which is 2-3 times a year, I stop in Felix's to have a couple dozen oysters while standing at the bar. To me, this is one of the great traditions of the city. Add to that the fact that the oysters there are the best quality in town. Ask for the Mike's Special. The rest of the food is comparable to most similar restaurants--not outstanding but good.
Solid Lunch
by Etiger83 on 3/9/10
Ate lunch at Felix's last weekend and really enjoyed it. Started with the char-grilled oysters, they were done very well and had plenty of juice to be sopped up with the french bread. For an entree, had the shrimp poboy. The shrimp were medium size and the bread had a great texture. For dessert, had the bread pudding. It had a unique taste filled with pineapple and topped with a caramel/bourbon sauce.

Overall a great place for a nice lunch or a casual dinner.
